Virgin coconut oil (VCO) is obtained from fresh and mature kernel (12 months old from pollination) of the coconut ( Cocos nucifera L.) by the mechanical or nature means with or without the application of heat, which does not lead to alteration of the nature of the oil. VCO has not undergone chemical refining, bleaching or deodorizing. It can be consumed in its nature state without the need for further processing. Virgin coconut oil consists mainly of medium chain tryglycerides, which are resistant to peroxidation. The fatty acids in virgin coconut oil are distinct from animal fats which contain mainly of long chain saturated fatty acids. Virgin coconut oil is colorless, free of sediment with natural fresh coconut scent. It is free from rancid odor or taste.
The material of Virgin coconut oil is fresh coconut. The high quality coconut oil is selected from the specific coconut tree species - the native coconut tree, rather than the hybrid coconut trees. At the same time, the coconuts themselves must not be subject to any contamination or poor quality. The process does not use high temperature, absolutely do not use any chemical solvents to try to keep the natural flavor and to avoid loss of nutrients. Therefore, the finished virgin coconut oil will retain coconut flavor. Moreover, the coconut oil is processed with white coconut, high-quality coconut oil in the liquid state, it should be transparent and colorless; in the solidified state, it should be white as snow.
